Physical Activity and Physical Literacy Social Media Toolkit for Healthcare Providers

Resources & Toolkits

Developed by the Ministry of Health, this social media toolkit has been prepared to equip health authorities and other organizations to share messages and resources to promote physical activity and physical literacy in their communities.

The goal of this toolkit is to improve knowledge and awareness around the Canadian physical activity guidelines, and to provide ideas for individuals to build more physical activity into their day. The posts in the toolkit highlight the newly developed Physical Activity and Physical Literacy (PAPL) resources from the province: short handouts that outline the movement guidelines, define physical literacy, and provide ideas for individuals to add physical activity and movement into their daily routines. These handouts are organized by age group (early years, children and youth, adults, and older adults), and can be used by healthcare providers, community groups, schools, and other organizations across BC.

We recognize that regional health authorities may be managing a busy posting schedule, so this toolkit has been designed to be flexible.
